Bareback

i never really in the past had the courage to ride many horses bareback. when i rode larger horses bareback i felt like i had no control. when i rode smaller horses i nearly had too much. i have had more bareback falls than any other falls ( i've only fallen off 3 times and only 1 was at joshels) when i fell off a horse for the first time it was when i was 9 at my grandads place on his miniature bareback and i grabbed onto a tree branch above me and fell to the ground. my second fall was also a silly fall i was cantering a horse called tokyo and i couldn't make up my mind which way to go around a tree and i chose too late and slipped off, i wasnt in pain but i did get itchy from the grass i fell in.... my 3rd fall there was no other horse to ride and my saddle was in use i was on toffy in the roundyard and saw not much point staying on so when she bucked i let her throw me but because i was paying for a ride i sat on her at a walk for half an hour. when i started going to saturday and doing more bareback i rode cola one day and he was bucking and carying on but i remained seated!!! it was an ok ride. when i rode cosmo bareback more and more i got used to him and decided it wasnt so bad or so hard. i started to feel closer to him and he paid more attention to what i wanted him to do. i've never tried cantering him bareback but i've done heaps of trotting and walking on him. he makes me
feel the real horse i'm riding with.
