when i first met cosmo i thought he was a thoroughbred so i was afraid of him because of how flighty thoroughbreds are. when i rode him in a mini dressage test sonya gave me i started to warm up to riding him but i still disliked him. i prefered riding betty but i liked cantering and she was getting too old for it.... most of the time i wouldn't have a good horse to canter on.... but the one lesson rachel took me in the green house on cosmo and i cantered him all around the greenhouse for the first lesson and i felt as close to flying as i could possibly get. so i started to ignore the dislikes i had for him and preffered riding him. then the holiday program came and i rode him 24/7!!!! when i took him on the laneway for the first time i knew he would play up but i didn't care. when he started to do him crazy canter i ignored it and waited for the fence where we could stop. he continued this for a while but i started to loosen the reins and let him find his own comfort and he did... then i started to take it to the next step......jumping he was a great jumper but a little cheeky. when you rose into the 2 point seat he'd just trott over but when you sat normaly he would leap!!! he gives you a slight shock in a good way... now i ride him all the time. some of the girls thing i try to ride him western when i can't but you know what i don't care about heels down or tight reins or shoulders back... cosmo brings out the real rider in me...
