I have only got some old pictures. I recently went camping with school. unfortunately there was no horseriding but it was still really fun. We did rock climbing, absailing, low ropes, lake walk, etc we were their for 3 days. I however missed out on horseridng :( but the fun activities at camp made up for. The night activities were awesome and there was always a mad rush to get to the showers first becuase there were only three.
On the lake walk the other group got really lost so when they came back their legs were all black from the ash which was from the burn off fires. It was really funny to see them.

Blue Moon Part 2

He neighed as if to say "Sure, but can I get some hay?" Laughing Gabriella grabbed some hay, filled up the water barrel inside the pen, then started towards the house.

Taylor Stevens lazily flipped threw one of her old magazines then at the clock wondering where on earth Gabriella was. The dogs began to bark excitedly, "hmm she must be here." Taylor murmured to herself, rising out of the old comfy couch and heading towards the window.

It was then she saw her daughter leading a horse into the old horse pen. Wondering why there was a horse she narrowed her eyes and made her way outside.

"Ella, what's that horse doing in the pen? Why is he here? Where did he come from?" Taylor's questions kept coming till Gabriella finally answered.

"Mom I found him a banded on the road! He's here because he has scars so he obviously he needs care and I don't know where he came from but what I do know is that I so want him! I'm calling him blue moon. Blue moon would fit in perfect here mom! We got the fencing and a barn! Please can we keep him if the owner doesn't come forward?"

Taking a deep breath in Gabriella looked questioningly at her mother, "well?" Gabriella set her face in begging mode with whimpering it always won her mother over.

"Fine but just until we find the owner, and we'll put up fliers tomorrow ok? And I heard about you getting detention. I'm going to let it go but don't let it happen again." Taylor's serious blue eyes gazed into Gabriella's.

"Okay fine, I promise. And mom he's so nice he looks like he's a thoroughbred! I can't be too sure because it's getting dark but please if the owner doesn't want him can we keep him? Just think it over tonight ok? Maybe, maybe this is what we need." Gabriella walked up stairs feeling for once in her life since the accident that had changed everything, that something good might actually happen to her.

As she sat on her bed sighing happily as she starred at Blue Moon threw her window her mom came into the view and walked up to blue moon's pen and opened it up. Taylor patted the horse and headed towards the barn only to bring out a grooming brush.

Gabriella felt tears in the back of her eyes as she watched her mom carefully and softly groom him. Lying on her bed, Gabriella whispered quietly to herself, "Maybe it's a new start," before falling asleep.

"Daddy! Alex!" Gabriella screamed as dad's horse was falling. Everything changed now she and her mom were in the Emergency room, "what's happening to daddy? she felt herself scream, "NOOOO!!!!!"
Gasping she woke feeling sweaty, taking in a deep breath she glanced at the clock. 4:00 am. Sighing she raised herself out of bed; she didn't want to go back to that nightmare.

Gabriella made herself hot chocolate before heading outside. It was dark out, but she liked it that way, Blue Moon stared at her in confusion as she entered his pen, wondering why she was here so earlier!

"Oh Blue! I can't bear it; daddy should still be here, with me, with us! Why did he leave us so earlier? I know we just met but it feels like you've been with me forever." Crying hard into his bluish, black mane, Blue just stood there letting her let out all her sadness.

"We had a horse, her name was Golden Sunshine. My dad and I worked on her together, she was an amazing jumper. Mom sold her and the rest of the horses when daddy died. Want to know how he died? I think you'll understand, you see dad and his bay thoroughbred horse, Alex the Great is what we named him, were amazing together, unbeatable, at least we thought they were.

It was a big race this one, and dad so wanted to win! Alex did too, he told me. The race was stressful on daddy he almost always won but sometimes he didn't. Alex was the most amazing thoroughbred ever!? Snorting Blue Moon gave his objection, "okay fine one of the most amazing thoroughbreds."

Seeming pleased by that the big thoroughbred continued grazed with one ear turned towards Gabriella. "The day of the race Alex wasn't himself, but we pushed it off as nothing," feeling a lump forming in her throat, she couldn't go on, it was just too painful, Gabriella gave blue one last pat before racing inside.

"Mom I'm going to have a shower then I'm going to head to school." Grabbing her towel she headed towards the bathroom. After having a long, hot shower she got changed before heading to where her bike usually was, "Right," she muttered to herself, "I left it beside the old oak tree." Feeling frustrated she started towards the school.

He, She, I

He, She, I

I almost despised him, was afraid of him
I knew very little of him and much preferred her
she and him were opposites, she was really tall and he was rather short
I always rode her, not him
he was very young and high strung
and she was old and calm, hardly spooking like he
she was western and he was English and liked jumping

I could not ride her, I was given him
I was almost scared but I dared hop on him
he was behaving okay
but I still rathered her, I was afraid to jump him
I still did not know him

She was taken away, to another place
I missed her, I could see her when I wanted, but it was not the same
I almost felt lonely
he was still there though

I rode him once more
and he slowly began to grow on me
I got to know him
I actually rather liked him
he was almost the perfect size for me
he became calm, just like her
He could fly, fly over jumps much higher than you would think

I slowly started to love him, love riding him
he helped me get over her
every time I see him I feel happy
he has great spirit and I love him dearly.

A poem I found what do you reckon?

Blue Moon - Part 1

by Doree
(Canada)

Chapter One: A new start

Galloping, he raced his horse, a sleek bay, down the long road that seemed like a never ending circle, others were racing beside him, he urged his horse faster, faster till the other horses and their riders seemed far from them but then all a sudden they were tumbling down and...

Slap! Her teacher's ruler brought Gabriella Stevens out of daydreaming and back into reality, her teacher hovered over her desk, her eyes narrowed and her face set in a scowl.

"Miss Stevens I've been asking you the same question over and over again, this is the 4th time this week young lady, that I've caught you dozing off. Now go to the principal's office!"

"Yes Mrs. Keller." Gabriella mumbled feeling hopeless as she though her mom who had just said that morning if she went to the principles office again she was grounded, this was now 4th time now, this week she had to go to the principles office because of dozing off in class but she couldn't help it every time she closed her eyes, even a little, she thought of that race track. Shuddering Gabriella made her way to the principal's office.

Picking up her red bike up from the ground she started on her way home. Gabriella thought of her house it was yellow, her mom always said her dad loved that color, she thought of the outside with the chickens, her one cow daisy and the 3 dogs, and even once in a while a stray cat showed up but wouldn't stick around to long because of the dogs. It was perfect, all it missed was Horses.

Gabriella felt the word catch in her throat as she tried to say it. Ever since the accident her mom wanted nothing to do with horses, so she sold all of their 10 horses, even with Gabriella begging to keep Golden Sunshine, her beautiful palomino mare that her and her dad had worked on together, it was still a no.

Gabriella was mad at her mom for doing that but then again to her she couldn't risk another accident happening and losing the only thing she had now, which was Gabriella. Gabriella pedaled faster against the wind, she shivered as she saw a large dark thing peek out of the woods feeling scared she lost concentration, and didn't notice the car coming towards her.

Gabriella swerved to the left, just in time to avoid the vehicle, which she had just noticed and crashed into a big rock on the side of the road. The man in the car leaned out his car window and yelled at her to stay off the road. Biting her lip as if to hold back the pain Gabriella started to cry.

It felt good she hadn't cried in so long, as if wanting to comfort her, the large thing came out of the shadows. It was a horse. A beautiful one at that, with its long flowing mane and tail that lightly skimmed the ground, it seemed almost like a horse out of a fairy tail book except his scares, which were deep and long, it seemed to be slightly afraid but somehow knew she was no threat.

He was walking towards her, his head hanging low, he sniffed her softly taking in her scent. Feeling as though she could speak again she spoke softly to the Stallion.

"Hello sweetie who did this to you?" It was when she reached out to pet him he regarded her with suspicious eyes and pinned his ears back.

"It's okay I won't hurt you, trust me." His ears came forward slightly and he moved a bit closer. Gabriella very carefully took her backpack from her back and slowly zipped it open. Wrong move, everything in the horse's body language said so. He turned and cantered, then stopped when he had put a good space between them, wide enough for two cars to fit.

"It's okay I just wanted to give you this apple and a few carrots." She held out the tempting treats to the Horse. Sniffing the air he came closer and closer till he was able to reach forward and grab the apple from her hand. Crunching on the delicious apple, he greedily reached his head out for more.

"No more till you're done with your apple." She said trying to keep a straight face but then started laughing. It felt good since she hadn't laughed since her dad died. The Stallion dribbled some apple juice all over her shirt as he reached for the carrot.

"Will you follow me home?" She asked wondering if he would so she tried something, she started walking away with the carrot then peeked over her shoulder every so often. He stood there with an expression on his face like he was wondering why she took his treat away from him. For awhile he stood there refusing to follow her but when she put it to her mouth pretending to almost bite it, he hurried towards her, he didn't want anyone having his carrot!

When they reached home, she threw the rest of the carrots in the round pen hoping he would follow for awhile he starred at the round pen then at her, glaring as if saying "How dare you try and trick me!" The Stallion let out a frustrated squeal, he couldn't resist it anymore, he was hungry!

He trotted into the round pen then Gabriella closed it. The dogs began to bark excitedly as they made their way up to Gabriella. "Shh! If mom hears and she comes outside I'll be in trouble!"

The dogs continued to bark but quieted down slightly and began sniffing around the pen. Jackie, one of the 3 border collies, slithered underneath the fence and jogged over to the beautiful stallion sniffing around him. He whirled around, not liking that this animal had come into his territory as if trying to scare him off he began bucking wildly. The dogs ran over to Gabriella and cowered behind her.

"Sorry buddy I have to keep you in here you must belong to someone but judging by your cuts they aren't very good owners but still I have to keep you in here, there's the highway and the other farmers don't like horses just wandering on their land."

The Horse turned around so all she could see was blue roan rump. He gave a snort and trotted to the far side to eat some grass. "Well good night. What should I call you while you're here? How about I call you Blue moon, because you're a blue roan and I found you on a full moon but just until I find your owner okay? Does that sound good Blue moon?

What do your reckon?? I'll get the rest to you later thanx to...

SCARY

Elley did some videos for an assignment, thats what the pics are of.
I suppose you wanna know what was scary today lol. Well I was trying to do jumping on cola because his brother was unrideable (another story) first cola wouldnt wanna walk so i had to boot him every 5 seconds lol. then when we started jumping he would veer of sharply. Once he trotted right through all these bushes all the way to the paddocks at the other end. I couldnt do much to stop him because he was not listening to my aids to stop and I couldnt turn him in a tight circle without a high risk that I would fall off or he would trip on the bushes.
Then not long after that escapade we tried the jump again, this time he charged at the first jump, cleared it and then charged so fast at the next I had no time to slow him down, he jumped and the started cantering off. I sat as deep as I could and tried to pull him up but no... he just kept on going, nearly crashing into things!! Finally I heard Jess say to pull him in a tight circle so I tried to but he wouldnt turn his head so I shortened my reins so that my hand was really close to the bridle and eventually pulled him around. The second time i tried he did it again!! SCARY as

Some stories

It all started when I was 6 1/2 years old. I remember it all so clearly. My oldest sister, Molly, held my hand tight as we walked around the circus grounds for the first time gaping at all we saw. It was so exciting, the clowns and tricks, the hot-dog and popcorn stands, the circus music, and OH so many people! We had only 3 tickets as our allowance wasn't the greatest back then. As we came around the corner of the game stands I stopped dead in my tracks...there they were, we had found them. Everything else around me became blurred and faint once my eyes were set on what I was seeing. Five little ponies, the perfect size for me, all walking in circles with children on their backs. Molly looked down at me and said "Go Ahead...". In my eagerness, I had almost forgotten to take the tickets as Molly yelled after me "Wait! You need a ticket!", raising her hand to wave the tickets she was holding in the air. I stopped and looked back only to see a strange man running off with his freshly stolen tickets. I dropped to my knees and began to cry, "I wanted to ride the ponies, I wanted to!"....

Author of this paragraph: Friesian_Freak

....but all was not lost, the ticket seller seeing what had happened decided to give me a ride for free. she told me I could have any pony in the ring. I scanned the ponies for he one I thought was perfect, and there he was a prettyu little petite palomino, he was just georgous. As I climbed up on to the sturdy pony i looked around, no one else had a pony as nice as mine....

Author of this paragraph: horse lover

the owner of the pony helped me get on and the ponies began walking. Instantly, I was in love. I stroked the palomino's soft mane and pet his neck. He nickered softly back to me. Each time I stroked his neck, he nickered so softly only the two of us could hear it. I felt like I was living in a dream! What seemed like a only a brief minute later, I snapped out of my dream world to find that the ponies were stopping and the owner was helping everyone dismount. As I got off and started to walk away with tears beginning to swell up in my eyes, the sweet palomino turned to me and began nickering louder than before...over and over...with an intense, panicking look in his eye, as a foal would look being separated from its mother...

Author of this paragraph: Sarah

I started to panic. How could I leave this sweet golden pony? As I started to turn around to go back, a little girl about 4 years old was being helped onto the little palomino. The pony started nickering to the little red haired girl as he had to me. I smiled, realizing the pretty palomino pony had a heart as big as he was. This pony had a love for children, and they learned to love him in the few moments that they got to spend with him. Another pony was a pretty dapple grey, very petite with a tiny soft lump on her nose. The attendant called her June. Lots of children were lined up to ride June. Another pony was a paint with glass eyes (blue) named Sugar. Another was an appaloosa by the name of Chief with a pretty blanket on his rump. I heard the attendant call the palomino Sunset, which I thought was a really nice name. Too soon it was time to go, and the little girl had finished her ride with Sunset. A father was putting a toddler on his back as I walked on with Molly to see the rest of the sights. As we were walking along, an elephant came bursting down the midway straight at us.....

Author of this paragraph: Horse lover

Tara!!! Get out of the way! Molly screamed. But fortunately the elephant stopped and gazed into my eyes, it was love at first sight! I noticed that the elephant was still a baby almost adult. I decided to ride it so I got on to his back...

Author of this paragraph: Susan

just as I go on the palomino started to Winnie and cry out. It almost sounded jealous. So I got down and walked over to it. Sunset settled down. And the owner said he must be in love. He said it the pony was about 14 and it was time to retire. He said for $25 I could have him. I was so excited I started to jump up and down. My sister came over and said that it costs to much to keep the pony. I remembered the Paterson's about 2 miles down the road had horses and I was friends with them. They were looking to buy another pony to keep the pony they had already had company. And I could keep Sunset there. My sister said we should go home and talk to mom, dad and the Paterson's about it first. I could not wait. We went home. we talked about it for about an hour and my parents had made up there minds, the answer was NO. I was so upset I cried all night. Finally I fell asleep. I had a dream about me and my pony loaping through a field of tall yellow flowers. When I woke up I was so happy but then remembered that I could not have the pony. I walked into the kitchen and mom said that Joanna Paterson asked if I could come over and play. So I had my breakfast and got dressed. I was soon walking down the duty road kicking up gravel every couple of steps. I finally got to the Paterson's house and there in the pasture was... (feb 24, 2000)

Lol read these!!

A city dweller came to a farm and saw a beautiful horse. He decided he had to have the animal. He bargained with the farmer and the farmer finially sold him the horse. The city man jumped on the horse and said, "Giddyup!" The horse didn't budge. The farmer explained, "This is a special kind of horse. He'll only move if you say, 'Praise the Lord.' To stop him, you have to say, 'Amen.'" Keeping this in mind, the new owner yelled, "Praise the Lord!" whereupon the horse took off with great speed. Soon horse and rider were headed for a cliff. Just in time the rider remembered to say "Amen!" The horse came to a screeching halt right at the edge of the cliff. Relieved, the rider raised his eyes to heaven and exclaimed, "Praise the Lord!

-Your horse's hair is in better condition than your own.
-You refer to your car as "my portable tack room".
-You are exited when your friend tells you that there is a huge sale at the bridle shop, then you are dissapointed when you realize they mean the bridal shop.
-You have the vet's number but not your kid's pediatrician on your speed dial.
-Your spouse can track dirt into the house all they want, but God help them if they muddy up the tack room.
-Your house is a mess, but the barn is as neat as a pin.
-Your nice clothes are the ones without horse hair all over them.
-You have to go to your friend's wedding in riding clothes because you took too long at the barn.Only horsepeople would spend hundreds of dollors on a show for a 95 cent ribben
